The New York Jets travel to Buffalo for tonight’s installment of Thursday Night Football. Taken at face value, it’s kind of a lame matchup. However, when you look a little closer, there are a few juicy storylines.
Rex Ryan is facing his old team, as is Ryan Fitzpatrick. Last season, Sexy Rexy defeated the Bills twice, both games with a final of 22-17. The final game of the season was a chance for the Jets to win and get into the playoffs, but alas, Ryan Fitzpatrick went all Ryan Fitzpatrick and released a slithery turd slide down his leg.
You absolutely know that both teams are extremely fired up for this matchup. Rex is even shoveling down dozens of buffalo wings and cases of Bud Lights to gain more weight, because he won more games as a fatass. Can’t make this up folks. Now he and his brother Rob can really rock the “I can’t see my weiner” bellies. How in the hell does Rob Ryan have a job in the NFL??? Oh yeah, because his idiot brother hired him.
The Jets, on the other hand, have a cool-headed coach in Todd Bowles. The Jets actually seem to have a plan. They have a very good defense. I know, they have Fitzy, but he has weapons in Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker. And Matt Forte looked great last weekend. So there’s something in the works here.
The Jets lost a 23-22 game to the Bengals last weekend. Cincinnati is a very good team, despite what people might say. The Bill lost 13-7 to Baltimore. Baltimore is not a great team. Even though this game is in Buffalo, I will take the Jets all day long. And here are my fantasy picks.
Start: Ryan Fitzpatrick, Matt Forte, Brandon Marshall, Eric Decker, Jets D/ST, LeSean McCoy
Sit: Tyrod Taylor, Sammy Watkins, Charles Clay, Bilal Powell
I like all the Jets in this one. The defense is a sneaky good play. McCoy will have a decent game because he will get a lot of touches. It isn’t clear whether or not Watkins will even play, and I don’t like Taylor after seeing him last weekend. This may not be a high scoring game, but I do believe the Jets will get the bulk of fantasy here.
